Over-the-counter Whitening Strips and Gels:
This treatment ideally takes 14-days to get the desired effect at the cost of $15. Generally, whitening gels are applied twice a day during the whole 14 days treatment. The whitening gel is clear in nature and it is a peroxide-based gel, this gel is applied on the surface of your teeth by a brush.
On the other hand, the whitening strips are thin strips which are coated with the whitening gel and placed over your teeth for 30 mins. This is also a 14-day treatment. You can get this treatment at the cost ranging from $10-$55.
Tray-based Whitening products:
These products can be easily purchased over the counter or from your dentist. It is a tray which is filled with a whitening solution. The whitening solution is a peroxide-bleaching agent. The levels of stains determine the time for which you have to wear your tray, it might be that you have to wear the tray for few hours only or you might have to wear it day and night for as long as 4 weeks.
In-office treatment:
This type of treatment is performed by your dentist who applies whitening products to your teeth and uses either or combination of the following to achieve the desire level of result:
- Heat
- Special Light
- Laser
